"Give yourself the weekend getaway you deserve while we work with your dog. Drop off your dog Friday evening 5.30pm with a wish and winge list. (or any 2 nights) Leave your Dog in our capable hands for an overnight stay, and join us for a follow-up session on Sunday at 1 pm. Our comprehensive package includes personalized training sessions, with additional days available for just $120 each. While you explore beautiful Tauranga, rest assured that your dog is in expert care.

In our home train and board
$1,200 per week or $950 per week if over 3 weeks
Your dog stays in our home so training is 24/7 minimum 2 weeks , suggested 3 to 5 depending on what is needed to overcome. This includes the human lesson at the end.
Refresher
$80 per day
This is only for clients that have had Board n Train. Your dog will have several sessions during each day while they are with us.

One on one Dog Trainning
We train using your dogs natural instincts no harsh methods. We do not use pinch collars, electric collars. You use a normal collar or harness whatever you prefer.
We get you to put together a wish and winge list of all the behaviours you would like to work on and we go through them on the day.
The lesson normally runs around 2 hours and you are given exercises to do with your dog. The more you do these excersises the better the training works.
A 1 on 1 dog training lesson is for dogs over 6 months to any age. We suggest puppy classes for younger dogs, this is a great time for your dog to get to know your vet clinic.
Some of the behaviours we work with are
Pulling on the lead - Barking - aggression - jumping up - biting/mouthing - reactive, answering the door.
I explain why I don't use treat training for behaviour but sometimes do for tricks.

All lessons are held in Pyes Pa, Tauranga
Normal lesson times are 11am 7 days a week.
Train and board
We understand the initial dog training can be hard and time consuming, that is where Train and Board comes in.
Your dog will stay with us for between 3 to 5 weeks depending on the changes that are required. We go through all the behaviours you want us to work on and on pick up we have a training session with you to make sure you have the tools to keep the training going. You also have our ongoing support.
All of our boarding and training guests enjoy plenty of room for exercise and fun! We are conveniently located in Pyes Pa in Tauranga.
Our experienced on-site team has dedicated their lives to caring for dogs. All training residents are professionally handled at all times. We personally oversee your dog’s playtime, feedings, training and more! Your pet’s health, wellness, and happiness are our number one priority.

Yes you have 3 sessions either one on one or group included in the price. You can come to the client group training as often as you like at no cost for the next 6 months. Then we suggest you come along when you feel you need to.
Yes, you have to keep up with the training or things will go back to what they were. We train your dog and we also train you this makes for a very healthly and less stressful relationship in your home and out and about.
No, not at all. I will not have these on the property. People have asked me over the years if they should try them and my answer is the same "put it on yourself for a day first" if you cant handle that do not use them. I find them barbaric.
We have more than one trainer, this depends how many dogs we have in train and board. There is often 2 trainers on site and we also have the kennel staff.
This will not work, it takes at least 14 days of constant training to change the behaviours and stop them from doing old habits. It is normally 3 to 5 weeks for the new/good behaviours to really set in.

The trainer; Maree as a child was always training all the family pets to do tricks, follow her around, jump over go under or through things. Anything was possible, the animals cats, dog's goats, calves, chickens and whatever else wanted to get in on the fun could. Maree started her working life farming. One of her first jobs after that was a vet nurse, not able to handle people putting their pets to sleep because they said they were "bad" She thought there must be a better way. Maree ran a boarding kennel for about 5 years and watching the behaviour of the dogs became a passion. Working with many dogs and their humans was enormously rewarding. It was time to leave the boarding kennels and do what her true passion was. She trained with several dog trainers in New Zealand and overseas. Most of the trainers had different ways to train and anything that would harm the dog was instantly dismissed as nothing learns well when in pain and that just didn't sit right. She has done several dog training courses and is always looking at what is happening in the world of dog training. Maree found what has worked with her beliefs and caring nature. Treat training didn't make sense as she had never used it as a child and those animals would do anything for her, also pets don't give each other treats to explain things or train. It is all about going back to nature, understanding your dog, using love and praise. Over the past 27 years of training some things have changed and she is always open to learning new things, however the core of the respect training has stayed the same. Dog training is more than a job it is a passion and as Maree explains it is who she is.
